Industrial Portraits was the result of too much time spent wandering around industrial estates in my local area and eventually became the subject of my first zine (available here!). Industrial estates are my favourite places to explore, especially on a Sunday when it’s almost certain that all of the businesses will be closed and, aside from the occasional learner driver or dog walker, I usually have the place to myself. There’s always something to see in these types of places, whether its a pair of trolleys that have escaped in the middle of the road, or a shipping container hiding behind a nicely trimmed hedge. These areas are typically buzzing with activity during the week, goods going in and coming out and sounds of machinery in the air. But come the weekend, there is a pause, and an opportunity to capture it.
