This is an on going project and I’ll be adding photos as and when I find myself visiting the east coast. Aside from the description below I’m keeping this project very open to development. If it just ends up being a series of photos with no particular conclusion then that’s fine too. I simply enjoy making this kind of work and presenting it how I want it to be show rather than drip feeding it to my Instagram feed one by one.

ChatGPT kindly wrote me a foreword and created the title for the project, previously named ‘Off-Season’.

In the world of photography, we often find ourselves chasing the extraordinary, seeking out the grand and the spectacular. Yet, sometimes, beauty lies hidden in the most ordinary places, in the quiet corners of our everyday lives. It is this unassuming charm that our photo project, "Shores in Repose," invites you to explore. The coastal towns of East Anglia, with their long stretches of coastline and picturesque vistas, are often associated with the bustling excitement of summer tourism. But there is another side to these places, a side that reveals its unique character when the crowds disperse, and the off-season descends. It's a time when these coastal gems take on a different, more contemplative hue.

"Shores in Repose" captures the essence of these coastal towns during their quieter moments, in the off-season when the frenetic energy of summer fades away. The once vibrant streets and bustling beaches are transformed, revealing a tranquil and almost meditative beauty. Through these seemingly banal photos, we unearth the soul of these towns, the gentle ebb and flow of life that often goes unnoticed in the peak of tourist season. As you embark on this visual journey, you'll discover that there is poetry in the empty streets, serenity in the stillness, and a unique allure in the desolate landscapes. Each image invites you to contemplate the profound beauty that emerges when the world around us takes a breath.

"Shores in Repose" is an ode to simplicity, an appreciation of the ordinary, and a celebration of the off-season's serenity. It beckons you to find wonder in the seemingly mundane, reminding us that beauty is not limited to grand spectacles, but can be found in the subtle, the overlooked, and the everyday.
